Stan T. Cat doesn’t watch television. In all of his many years, I don’t recall seeing him even notice anything on the tube. That was…until last night. I was studying an instructional DVD on how to use the new Tascam Portastudio. It was full of useful tricks and handy short-cuts. There were lots of close-ups of the mixing board with the instructor’s finger coming into the shot to push buttons and point out things of interest. On the big screen, the buttons and fingers were colossal making it very easy to see what the producer was pointing out…until the black outline of a cat appeared. Stan (who had been sleeping) was up on his hind legs, stretching as tall as he could to see what was going on. His head followed the gigantic fingers from button to button like he was watching a tennis match. This went on for several chapters. When the show was over, Stan seemed satisfied and went back to his spot on the couch. While I don’t know what it was that had him so fascinated, I do know that if I’m ever stuck on a production project and need a second opinion, I can always ask Stan.
