Now THIS is why I got a big screen TV! I picked up "Star Trek" and spent last night enjoying one of the best films I've seen in ages. I was never a big Trek fan. When I was a kid, the show was in its first run and even then I thought it was hokey. This film is anything but! It's an exciting, hilarious reboot of the francise. The special effects are jaw-dropping and the action is riveting. But best of all, each major cast member is perfectly suited to their role. Kirk, Bones, Spock...all great, but SCOTTY (as he did in the series) steals the show. And the inside jokes! Popular lines from the series are recycled in ways that make them very funny. But it was a new line that really cracked me up. At a particularly tense moment, Bones asks Spock: "Are you out of your Vulcan mind?!") Big movie, huge fun.
