Provincial Scam Date: 2011-06-03

The Jeep has been ordered to take an e-test before I can renew my plates and licence. What a scam! While hundreds of TTC busses belch out their smog daily from sun-up to last call, my lowly little 6-banger needs to take an e-test?! Please. The only driving I ever do is to the grocery store or to the vet's. Oh - and driving around trying to get this friggin' e-test and paperwork done. What a scam...

Well. It cost me $157 just to get out of the driveway today. Went out to start the Jeep for its e-test (scam!) and the battery was dead. It had been sounding a little impotent lately and today...nothing. So, for the first time since selling my Mercedes, I called CAA. The dead battery was original to the vehicle so I got them to install a new one for me ($157) and I was on my way.

Now, in times passed, I would have had the Jeep tuned-up with a can of Shur-Pass in the gastank before taking the test. Marv says that's all a crock and Jeeps don't need it. "Just take the test" he insisted. So I did. I didn't even drive it on the highway, I just went straight to the e-tester. PASS! Marv was right again. And when the tester insisted I pay him in cash...I was proven right too. It is all just a SCAM.
