The north wind bent my front gutter into a sideways U. It's way up there too. With every breeze, the lower arm has been slapping the roof for a week. Well, Nick and Tony from North Shore Eavestroughing came by around 2 pm. I was a little leery about a Friday afternoon install, but to my great relief, they didn't seem concerned about the time. If two big trucks weren't enough to tell you something was going on, the job was further emphasized by the dozen or so traffic cones dotted around. The guys were fully aware of the extra jobs I'd requested, so I got out of their way and let them get to it.
After 2 hours of cutting, pounding and wafting fumes, I went out for a look. One guy was already gone while the other marched around the perimeter with a leaf blower. I stood back. WOW. I've never been so impressed with...gutters! Everything matches like it was always there. They capped and sealed the old kitchen vent, capped and redirected the downspout from the sewer, clipped off old cable wires from the second floor and reattached a corner of siding that also came off in the storm. So, in all, a fairly productive day. And the best part is, I don't have to see those hideous wires anymore. That alone is worth it.
